about

After spending a lot of time on the road touring in the burlesque scene this song was inevitable! I really enjoy the contrast between the verse and chorus as it really captures the highs and lows of life on the road.

lyrics

So many miles covered in smiles and a sparkling trail of rhinestones
You were looking for someone to make the connection
But the line stayed busy, no dial tone
The line stayed busy, no dial tone.

chorus:
And we sat on the beach, listening to beats
And the night was so groovy.
Yeah we sat on the beach with the sand in our feet
Like a teenage American movie

No more dishes and lost cause wishes on road made of satin and lace
You were looking for someone with some kind of magic
To make vanish the tears from your face
Vanish the tears from your face.

chorus

You needed a chance to high kick and dance with words like a nice new pair of shoes
You’d been there before at the wide open door
And you knew you had nothing to lose
Knew you had nothing to lose

chorus
